Matt Jackson

Professionally I trained as a children's nurse in Sheffield after having worked in a number of health care settings. After qualifying I worked mostly in paediatric acute areas such as A&E and PICU. In 1998 I moved to Derbyshire where I worked in Paediatric Orthopaedic Trauma and then went on to be a Team Leader at NHS Direct. Here I gained a number of post registration qualifications, both in Health and Education which led me to pursue a career in Clinical Training. I moved to Rushcliffe PCT in Nottingham where I was tasked with implementing training programmes predominantly for community inpatient areas. This included an array of both clinical and non-clinical subject areas. The work at the PCT over the past 4 years has given me the opportunity to develop my training delivery skills and commissioning role. Faced with the largest challenge to Deliver Moving & Handling Training across what was 4 PCT's initiated a relationship with HME Ltd, a Moving & handling consultancyand led to the formation of HME Traing Ltd

Recent developments in the Primary Care Trusts allowed me to re look at training provision overall and in the summer of 2007 I took the decision to formalise my relationship with HME Ltd and join forces. Now as Director of HME Training Ltd., I am developing training courses and partnerships with other training providers for the mutual benefit of both the company and health and social care providers. The arrangement has enabled me to gain continued professional development with experts in Moving & Handling and work with HME's existing customers to provide new services. I have had many opportunities to develop in all the areas I deliver to a high level. I continue to strive in the pursuit of knowledge and update all my areas of interest. Through personal development and a comprehensive network of expert colleagues I am excited about the future of HME Training Ltd to deliver a multitude of clinical and non-clinical subject areas to all sectors.

Over the last 15 years working and learning in the Health Care Environment I have focused on quality care delivery both personally andin the development of service provision. Recent years in Learning & development have opened up many exciting opportunities and I have often been credited for my ability to react effectively to organisational changes and support teams and individuals through change. I am interested in the concept of 'Working in new ways' and have developed bespoke training sessions and change facilitation events to reflect service provider needs.

I am currently completing a degree in 'Professional Development' where I have researched the areas of individual and organisational needs analysis and see this as one of my strongest areas. My new role as director of HME Training Ltd iinvolves linking in with new provider services to support their understanding of service development and learning needs. I see this as an essential way forward to enable training to be as efficient and relevant as possible, driven completely by the service/customer needs.

Whatever the project I would be very happy to discuss it further without obligation, please email me using the contact form and we can arrange a telephone call.

I look forward to hearing from you

Matt Jackson

"Thank-you" -- I have enjoyed your training sessions and found them most informative and thought-provoking. I have much appreciated the style in which they have been arranged-just the right amount of informality, entertaining at times!, and as I say, most useful to take back into the clinical-or any other setting.
