The Royal Society for Public Health works with the QCA (Qualifications and Curriculum Authority) and the Sector Skills Councils to offer awards at various levels within the National Qualifications Framework. Level 2 is appropriate for people who work with some guidance and supervision.
They do not need any prior qualification to enter for the award, which is made on the basis of a multiple choice exam.
This qualification will provide your staff with essential hygiene information and teach them how to use this knowledge to maintain a clean and safe environment at work. It can be offered as a one day course
.

This level 2 Award is designed for employees working in a wide range of different environments, such as care homes, day centres, intermediate care facilities, child care and play facilities, GP surgeries, health centres and dental surgeries. This qualification provides a clear understanding of the principles of decontamination, infection control and their application in primary and community care settings.
This award provides knowledge and understanding of infection control and decontamination.
· Infections in healthcare settings and how they are spread
· How to prevent cross-infection
· How to maintain a clean and safe environment
· How to use protective equipment
· Decontamination procedures, standard precautions and risk assessment.
