Cathy Taylor Palm Training Ltd offers introductory and update training days for Practice Nurses, District Nurses, Occupational Health Nurses and Community Nurses in all aspects of primary health care. We also organize training for GPs.

Joint Initiatives We work collaboratively with the Birmingham Cytology Training Centre in the organization and development of Cervical Cytology Training Courses (under the guidance of the NHS Cervical Screening Programme), the British Association for Sexual Health and HIV in running the Sexually Transmitted Infections Foundation Coursesand the Faculty of Family Planning and Reproductive Health Care providing regular update days in contraception.

More recently we have organised national conferences for the NCCG Committee (Non-Consultant Career Grade Doctors) including annual update days for over 200 doctors

New Initiatives We have developed a number of basic courses for Primary Health Care Assistants to meet the demand for changed working practices in primary care.

With over 20 years experience in business, the main aim of the company is to provide quality training which is relevant to the target audience and competitively priced. Our teachers/presenters are all qualified in their particular field and also continually update their practice.

I am always keen to hear from anyone, or any organization who wishes to develop a particular area of training and welcome new ideas/initiatives which we can develop together.

Location of Training Our Training is available on site, regionally and locally where there is a demand. We use a variety of venues for training events. All training is evaluated and monitored on a regular basis ensuring the quality and standard of training is maintained to the highest level.

I joined the NHS in 1974 and enrolled onto the management training scheme working in the department of general practice education and training. I then gained a degree in Sociology and Social Policy, completed a business studies course and a teaching certificate. Having worked in the NHS for 14 years, I decided to take the plunge and set up my own business. Initially I worked with a group of General Practitioners and Practice Nurses. Subsequently I developed a series of workshops and training days and went on to develop this into a full time business.
