Ann Stuart

Learning & Development specialist working part-time as
Learning Co-ordinator supporting the development of NHS Health Trainers.

My work with NHS Health Trainers for Derbyshire County PCT and the East Midlands HT Hub Partnership, has involved:

* Gaining registration to become one of the first centres to deliver the Royal Institute of Public Health (RIPH) Level 2 Award in Understanding Health Improvement (UHI)

* Facilitating and writing UHI programme materials which have been shared nationally across NHS Health Trainer Hubs

* Co-ordinating, supporting and developing UHI tutors and programmes to ensure quality outcomes, (100% pass rate)

* Working with local partners to develop and deliver the City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate for Health Trainers across the East Midlands

* Being a member of the national expert panel to review and revise the City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate for Health Trainers

I was commissioned to write the course workbook which supports the delivery of the RSPH Level 2 Award in Understanding Health Improvement for Health Trainers in prisons and the wider community.

This handbook was launched at the RIPH Headquarters in Portland Place, London on 9th July 2008 The RSPH Level 2 handbook can be downloaded from the Department of Health website Follow this link

Registered centres can also access the materials from the RSPH resource area

I successfully completed the Working in Partnership Programme (WiPP) Self Care Skills 'train the trainer' programme in May 2008.

The course provides training in self care skills to enable people to be active self carers of minor ailments, acute illness, long-term conditions, or in following a healthy lifestyle.

I have 28 years experience of working in the NHS, and have spent the past 18 years developing and honing my knowledge and skills to support personal, management and organisational development.

During my career, I have worked and networked extensively with health and social care colleagues and staff.

I have been involved in the voluntary and independent sector, further and higher education institutions, awarding bodies and other learning and development specialists.

Whatever the project I would be very happy to discuss it further without obligation, please email me using the contact form and we can arrange a telephone call.

I look forward to hearing from you

Testimonial

I have just spent the afternoon reading through the training booklets for the RSPH L2 Award in UHI... what a thoroughly user friendly, comprehensive and informative document, packed with excellent information, set out well and with some really attractive and useful practical exercises to carry out. It is obvious that you have spent a great deal of time ensuring that it is pitched at the right level and made to look appealing and uncomplicated as possible to the user. Congratulations on preparing such an excellent training resource.

Healthcare Educator.
