This development programme has been put together to enable Care workers to administer prescribed and 'household' medication in accordance with The National Minimum Standards for Social Care Provision, Standard 13, contemporary guidance and practice from The Royal Society of Pharmacists Great Britain (The Handling of Medicines in Social Care 2007). The programme will necessarily reflect and utilise the Homes policy and written guidance for practice, for storage, disposing and administering of medication. Local documentation and procedures will be incorporated into training activities. This interactive training session has been designed to meet the specific needs of this staff group. Whilst highly practical, the activities have been put together to enable participants understand the limits of their role and test out their ability to discern when they must refer to the registered prescribing practitioner.
The training includes formative and optional summative assessment activities cross-referenced to NVQ unit CSH3 (Administer medication to individuals) Evaluation is undertaken for each session with an overall evaluation report
Group participants; 8-15 maximum at each session (half day)

Whatever the size of project, I would be very happy to discuss it further without obligation, please email me using the contact form and we can arrange a telephone call.
