Healthier Food and Special Diets RIPH Level 2

Assessment


This level 2 Award in the National Qualifications Framework is appropriate for people who work with some guidance and supervision. They do not need any prior qualification to enter for the award, which is made on the basis of a multiple-choice exam Programme activities can be tailored to take account of local variation in protocol etc.



Programme

This level 2 Award focuses on


* The importance of hygiene
* The food handler's legal responsibilities
* Their role in monitoring food safety procedures
* How to store, prepare, cook, hold and serve food safely

This qualification is relevant to all employees who prepare and serve food. It is especially applicable to those involved in the selection of ingredients, recipes and menus, such as Care Home workers and School caterers as well as those in hospitality, leisure, health and community care or retail food outlets. It is also relevant for those working in the food manufacturing industry.
Delivered over one and a half days this course provides candidates with all the information they need to prepare nutritious food, develop healthy recipes and cater for a variety of dietary requirements
The course can be delivered either on-site or at a training venue locally
